WELCOME TO THE GAMMA BETA CHAPTER! My name is Rachael and I have the honor of serving as the President of the Gamma Beta chapter of Delta Zeta at the University of Connecticut. Going into college, I wanted to get involved and did not know how. I wanted to find friends who I could count on for anything as well as find ways to be a leader on campus and get involved with service projects. I went through formal recruitment in the Fall of 2020, and I found more than I could have possibly imagined. I often heard that a sorority is a home away from home but Delta Zeta has surpassed simply being a home. The women I have met share the same qualities as well as help me push myself to my fullest potential. Our chapter truly embodies what Delta Zeta stands for: friendship, curiosity, generosity, citizenship empowerment, and belonging. I finally found a place where I’m lifted up by other strong women who challenge me, hold me accountable, and love me unconditionally. I am glad to say I have learned about myself and the world around me by being inspired by the women around me. I can say with confidence that I have grown as a leader, served our local and national philanthropies, and inspired others as much as they have inspired me to be the best version of myself.
I went through recruitment during a national pandemic. Through all the hardships, I can firmly say my time as a Delta Zeta has made life seem a little more normal. In a time where experiences are no promised, being able to enjoy sisterhood activities, study on campus with sisters, touch lives through philanthropy events, and navigate together through whatever challenges, including the crazy times we’re living in, makes my college experience worth it. Delta Zeta is not just an organization that lasts for the four years of college, but will stick with you for the rest of your life. I could not ask for a better and stronger chapter full of my 130 chosen sisters.
I encourage you to explore our social media and website to see all the incredible moments we have shared. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions, comments or concerns about the Gamma Beta chapter of Delta Zeta.
